About the Event

Come revel in the beauty of Alaska’s majestic forests, awe-inspiring coastline, and magic of her mountains as we gather in a remote corner of Seward, Alaska on the shores of Resurrection Bay.

Traveling from Anchorage to Seward

Begin the experience with the journey from Anchorage to Seward. For our spring retreat, you will ride in comfort via private deluxe van along the dramatic shorelines of Turnagain Arm, past jutting peaks of the Chugach Mountains, and through some of Alaska’s small communities of the Kenai Peninsula. For September dates, being your journey by rail, on the Alaska Railroad’s historic Coastal Classic train, winding through the backcountry wilderness of the Kenai Peninsula past massive glaciers and towering waterfalls, enjoying the comfort and hospitality of Alaska’s premiere train service. No matter how you get there, you are sure to enjoy the journey!

About Salted Roots Cabins

We will be gathering at the Salted Roots property located in the Lowell Point community of Seward, Alaska. Seward is a seaside town of 2,600 that sits on Resurrection Bay, surrounded by jagged mountain peaks and lush, moody, moss-covered rainforest, offering spectacular hiking and exploring. The property sits adjacent to the shores of Resurrection Bay, with three rustic cabins (studio style) directly on the shore, and the remaining cabins and suites across a small access road. There are three types of accommodations available: the Modern Cabins, Seaside Cabins, and the Greenhouse Suites.

"Modern" Cabins

There are two A-Frames, two Bayview Cottages, and one unique cabin built with an integrated retro bus.

  • A-Frames: 2 bedroom, 1 King, 2 twins, 1 pullout in main area (pullout only will be used if requested)

  • Bayview Cottages: 1 bedroom, 1 King, 1 murphy bed in main area

  • Retro Bus Cabin: 2 bedroom, 2 Kings

"Seaside" Cabins

There are three seaside cabins, all similar in size and location, perched around a firepit and overlooking the shoreline. Each is a studio style suite with either a queen or king bed. One of these cabins is ADA accessible.

"Greenhouse" Suites

In the "Greenhouse" Building, there are two deluxe 2-bedroom suites and two mini-suites (one bedroom). All have similar amenities and are most similar to a hotel suite. All units have access to a kitchen, BBQ area, and outdoor deck seating area.

  • Forest Suite: 2 bedroom, 1 King, 1 Queen murphy bed

  • Emerald Suite: 2 bedroom, 1 King, 1 Queen + 1 Twin (shared room)

  • Sage Mini Suite: 1 bedroom, 1 King

  • Mint Mini Suite: 1 bedroom, 1 King

We will gather in both the main A-frame cabin (occupied by retreat host and staff) living area as well as the private yoga studio for group sessions, and each of the cabins has ample space for gathering, connecting, or simply having some private time. Evenings may entail gathering around a crackling outside fire pit sharing stories, enjoying a private massage in your room, or savoring the heat of the barrel sauna next to the fire circle. Explore the shore via a private footpath down to the water or lounge on the private beach platform watching a sunrise or spotting ocean wildlife.
